The design is in relief, and of great quality. The lighter is old school and great. I remember my dad having Zippos and this one seems to be the same. It is made in Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA, just like Case knives!!! I use it for bushcraft, lighting propane torch, etc. Every Viking should have one of these.
